The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces has affirmed that Iran has no intention of continuing to carry out attacks against Israel, calling on Tel Aviv to avoid taking further actions against Tehran.
On April 14, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, General Mohammad Bagheri, declared that the country's attack on Israeli territory had "achieved its objectives" and Tehran had no intention of continuing the operation.
Bagheri said the Iranian attack targeted an “intelligence center” and air base from which Tehran said Israeli F-35 jets took off to attack the consular building at the Iranian Embassy in the Syrian capital Damascus on April 1.
Mr. Bagheri affirmed that Iran has no intention of continuing to carry out attacks against Israel, and called on Tel Aviv to avoid taking further actions against Tehran.
The military general said Israel's retaliatory actions would lead to a "much more serious" response from Iran.
On the same day, in a post on social network X, Iran's permanent mission to the United Nations affirmed: "The situation can be considered over" and Israel should not carry out retaliatory attacks.
“If the Israeli government commits another mistake, Iran will react much more severely,” the Iranian delegation warned.
Earlier, Iran's mission to the United Nations announced that its military action against Israel was based on Article 51 of the UN Charter in response to Israel's recent attack on Iran's diplomatic facilities in Syria.
Iran launched the attack on the night of April 13 with 200 drones and missiles, an Israeli military spokesman said. The attack was in response to an attack on the Iranian embassy in Syria two weeks ago that Iran blamed on Israel.
These incidents mark a new dangerous escalation in the Middle East as the “fire pot” heats up every day.
