According to TASS news agency (Russia), on July 24, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba had a meeting lasting more than 3 hours with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Guangzhou city (China).
"The talks were longer than expected. They were very deep and specific," a source in the Ukrainian delegation said. During the talks, Foreign Minister Kuleba announced that Ukraine was ready for negotiations with Russia. "The Ukrainian side is ready for dialogue and negotiations with the Russian side. Of course, the negotiations must be reasonable and realistic, aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace," Kuleba stressed.
On the same day, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that Mr. Kuleba informed Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi of Kiev's consistent stance of readiness to negotiate with Moscow at the appropriate stage.
Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said that at the meeting, Foreign Minister Wang Yi once again affirmed Beijing's stance that the Russia-Ukraine conflict needs to be resolved through negotiations.
Mr. Wang Yi emphasized that although the conditions and timing are not yet determined, China supports all efforts to promote the establishment of peace and is willing to continue to play a constructive role in supporting the ceasefire and resumption of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba visited China from July 23 to 26 at the invitation of Wang Yi.
