On average, each year, Vietnam has about 120,000 to 143,000 people working in foreign markets. In 2023 alone, there were 112,000 people working abroad, mainly in the Japanese and Taiwanese markets. The foreign labor force brings an average annual profit of 3.5 - 4 billion USD to the country.
This is the information just announced by Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung this morning, November 8, in response to questions from National Assembly deputies.
Answering questions about using labor after returning from working abroad and ensuring the balance of the domestic labor force, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung said that promoting the overseas labor force is an issue that the Government has directed in the Government's Resolution.
The Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has been focusing on a number of solutions for the workforce after returning from abroad.
The first is to build an electronic information page and a job exchange for this group.
The second is to connect Vietnamese and foreign enterprises so that when workers return home they can participate. The Minister cited the case of workers returning home from Japan who can work in Japanese enterprises, which would be appropriate.
Third is to connect foreign enterprises with domestic enterprises so that Vietnamese workers can go to foreign enterprises to work and when they return home, there will be immediate job connections.
Fourth is to diversify short-term, seasonal, and temporary labor forms to take advantage of the abilities and strengths of workers.
Fifth, these cases are given loans to continue production, business, and opening factories, as well as creating conditions to attract skilled workers after returning home.
According to Minister Dao Ngoc Dung, each year about 1.6 to 1.7 million workers are provided with jobs, of which the number of workers Foreign workers account for about 10% while maintaining 500,000 to 650,000 people regularly working abroad. The Minister said this scale is moderate and said that there will be adjustments according to labor needs at each time so as not to affect the domestic market.
