Currently, relevant units of Hai Duong Provincial Police serving the collection of ID card issuance records according to the ID Law have been equipped with iris data collection equipment.
According to the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order (Provincial Police), up to now, the Provincial Police have received and handed over 13 sets of iris data collection to units serving the collection of ID card applications for people. Of which, each district-level police agency is provided with 1 set. 1 set is provided to the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order.
These receivers have been installed with software to be ready for operation. In addition, 24 computers serving the collection of ID card applications at the units have also been installed with software and related data. Officers and soldiers in charge of collecting ID card applications have been trained in their use.
According to the Law on Identification, in addition to the information collected as in previous citizen identification cards, identification cards issued from July 1st will include information about the iris. Information about voice, DNA, etc. are not required when people apply for identification. The law also stipulates that people aged 14 and over are required to apply for identification; people aged 0 to under 14 are also issued identification if needed; people aged 6 and over will have their irises collected when applying for identification.
According to the synthesis of the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order, the whole province currently has 1,642,058 people aged 14 and over and 468,018 people aged 0 to under 14.
The iris is a complex structure of lines that form a distinct structure. Therefore, each person's iris is unique and usually does not change over time.
Iris data is highly accurate, very suitable for the current digital transformation trend in the world and Vietnam when electronic transactions are expanding. Iris data is used for smart devices equipped with cameras, avoiding cases of fake faces, fake videos when identifying and authenticating transactions.
