Hai Duong City will clean up the living environment

On the morning of September 4, the People's Committee of Hai Duong City held a meeting to deploy a plan to launch a general environmental sanitation campaign towards the 220th anniversary of the founding of Thanh Dong (1804-2024) and the 70th anniversary of the city's liberation (October 30, 1954-October 30, 2024).

Chairman of Hai Duong City People's Committee Tran Ho Dang affirmed that the city's general environmental sanitation campaign demonstrates the determination of the Party Committee and government in building a green city.

Accordingly, on September 14 and 15, agencies and units of Hai Duong City, People's Committees of wards and communes coordinated with public service units to simultaneously organize cleaning and garbage collection in all areas, main roads, alleys, and public areas. Carry out landscaping, trim trees, and flower paths. General cleaning and clearing of sewers, dredging of silted and degraded drainage channels, ensuring drainage. 100% of waste is collected and treated according to regulations. Thoroughly handle illegal garbage collection points on roads, garbage on canals and ditches and take measures to prevent them from recurring.

Hai Duong City will focus on waste treatment at 59 locations in the area where environmental sanitation frequently occurs. At the same time, priority will be given to cleaning important routes such as: Ho Chi Minh Avenue, Truong Chinh, Vo Nguyen Giap, Nguyen Luong Bang, Ngo Quyen, Bach Dang, Thanh Nien, Ton Duc Thang, Quang Trung, Hong Quang, Le Thanh Nghi, Dien Bien Phu, Tran Hung Dao... and canals T1, T2, Hao Thanh, Nguyen Thien Thuat, Sat River...

In addition to the general environmental sanitation campaign, Hai Duong City will promote propaganda and dissemination of legal regulations on environmental sanitation, raising people's awareness in preserving and maintaining public hygiene. After the city-level campaign, Hai Duong City People's Committee will hand over to the People's Committees of wards and communes to organize and maintain implementation.

Currently, Hai Duong City is implementing 55 urban beautification projects, including 11 city-level projects, the rest are registered by wards and communes. Hai Duong City also mobilized agencies and units in the area to join hands in beautifying their offices to create beauty for the city. Offices on central streets such as Ho Chi Minh Avenue, Nguyen Luong Bang, Ngo Quyen, Bach Dang, Hong Quang... will be beautified with gates, fences, main offices and installed with artistic lighting systems on the exterior, striving to complete before September 30.
