Continuing to study for a master's degree has become increasingly popular with many students after graduating from university in recent years.
To study for a master's degree, applicants must meet many different criteria. Among them, the degree criteria is receiving much attention.
Can I get a master's degree with an average college degree?
According to Article 5 of the Master's Degree Admission and Training Regulations stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Training, to study a master's program, candidates must have graduated or have met the requirements for recognition of university graduation (or equivalent level or higher) in a suitable field. For research-oriented programs, the graduation requirement is from good or higher or have scientific publications related to the field of study and research.
Therefore, an average undergraduate degree is still sufficient as one of the requirements for a master's degree. However, if you are studying a research-oriented master's degree program, you must have a good undergraduate degree or higher to meet the requirements.
In addition to the requirements for university graduation, students must have foreign language proficiency at level 3 or higher according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework for Vietnam. Meet other requirements of the training program standards issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and according to the regulations of the training program.
The method of admission to the master's program will be decided by the training institution, including entrance exams, selection, or a combination of entrance exams and selection; ensuring transparent, fair, objective, and honest assessment of the knowledge and capacity of candidates.
Form and duration of master's degree training?
With research-oriented programs and application-oriented programs, universities both apply formal training. In addition, application-oriented programs have another form of training: work-study training.
The time for organizing teaching activities for each training form is implemented according to the University Training Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. For each training form, schools provide a standard study plan for the entire course for each program to guide students.
The maximum time for students to complete the course is specified in the training institution's regulations, but does not exceed twice the time according to the standard full-course study plan for each form of training.
In addition to the above information, you also need to pay attention to the input information of the major and the level of suitability with your career goals as well as future job opportunities. This will help you calculate exactly whether the major is really suitable for your goals, avoid wasting time and not distracting from studying.
