Top 10 best-selling cars in March: VinFast Fadil returns, Kia Seltos drops 7 places

After a month of "disappearance", the Vietnamese car model VinFast Fadil has made an impressive comeback and immediately took the top spot in the top 10 best-selling cars in March.

After the first two months of the year were relatively sluggish in the domestic car market, last March, the list of best-selling cars had a significant change. The VinFast Fadil model, which had been dropped from the top 10 in February, made an impressive return and immediately took the top spot, pushing the Toyota Corolla Cross down to second place.

On the other hand, after a month of booming, KIA Carnival is no longer in the top 10 best-selling cars on the market. Also "falling from the top" is another compatriot, the Hyundai Grand i10, giving way to the B-class sedan Honda City.

Below are the rankings of the 10 best-selling car models last month:

1. VinFast Fadil: 2,567 units

VinFast Fadil returned to the top of the table last March

The VinFast Fadil model sold 2,567 units in March 2022, 3.7 times higher than February's sales. This sales figure was "more than enough" for this A-size car to take the first place in the top best-selling cars of the month. Cumulatively in the first quarter, Fadil achieved sales of 4,665 units.

Vinfast Fadil uses a 1.4L engine with two versions. Fadil is currently priced from 382 million for the standard version, 449 million for the highest version for direct payment.

2. Toyota Corolla Cross: 2,373 units

Corolla Cross is still Toyota's best-selling model

While in February 2022, Toyota Corolla Cross had sales of 1,358 units, in March, this model achieved sales of 2,373 units, an increase of 75%. However, this model still had to stand in second place after VinFast Fadil.

Toyota Corolla Cross was launched in the Vietnamese market in August 2020 and became the most successful new model of Toyota Vietnam when it was regularly in the top 10. Toyota Corolla Cross has 3 versions, including the Hybrid version, with prices ranging from 720-918 million VND, all imported from Thailand.

3. Toyota Vios: 2,228 units

Toyota Vios continues to be the best-selling sedan model of the month

Compared to sales in February 2022 of 1,181 units, Toyota Vios increased by 88.6% in March. This result helps Vios maintain its 3rd position in the top best-selling cars in the market, while leading the sedan segment.

Currently, Toyota Vios is assembled domestically with a total of 6 versions, an increase of 1 special version (Vios GR-S) compared to before. Vios 2021 is equipped with a 1.5L engine, 5-speed manual transmission or CVT automatic transmission. The selling price of this model ranges from 478 to 638 million VND.

4. Hyundai Accent: 2,031 units

Hyundai Accent has increased 2 ranks compared to last month

With 2,031 cars sold in March, Hyundai Accent's sales more than doubled compared to the previous month (with 1,0001 cars). This made Hyundai's B-class sedan rise 2 places in the top 10 and closely follow its rival Toyota Vios.

Currently, Hyundai Accent 2021 is assembled domestically by TCMotor and distributed in 4 versions, using a 1.4L engine with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The versions of Accent have listed prices from 426 to 542 million VND.

5. Honda City: 1,744 units

Honda City is in the top 10 at 5th place after 1 month of "disappearance"

Honda City is the next B-class sedan to make the top 10 best-selling cars of the month. Honda sold 1,744 units in March, up 126.2% compared to February.

The 2021 Honda City has a new design, using a 1.5L engine combined with a CVT automatic transmission. This B-class sedan is introduced in 4 versions: E, G, L and RS with prices ranging from 499 to 599 million VND.

6. Mitsubishi Xpander: 1,622 units

Xpander increased 2 ranks compared to last month and ranked 6th.

Compared to February 2022 sales of 828 units, Mitsubishi's MPV model reached 1,622 units in March, nearly doubling. This is also the leading model in the MPV segment in Vietnam.

Currently, Mitsubishi Xpander is distributed in 3 versions: imported AT, assembled AT and MT with prices ranging from 555 million to 630 million VND. All versions use a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine, producing 103 horsepower.

7. Mazda CX-5: 1,365 units

CX-5 is the most prominent name in the product range of the Mazda brand in Vietnam.

Compared to 1,054 units sold in February, Mazda CX-5 increased sales by 29.5% in March 2022. However, this Crossover model still dropped 2 places compared to the 5th position last month.

Mazda CX-5 currently has 7 domestically assembled versions with prices ranging from 839 million to 1.059 billion VND. Competitors of this model are Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson, Nissan X-Trail, Mitsubishi Outlander,..

8. KIA K3: 1,327 units

KIA K3 dropped 4 places compared to last month

In March 2022, KIA K3 sold 1,327 units, a slight increase of 17% compared to the previous month. This sales figure still helped this C-class sedan make it into the top 10 at 8th place.

At the end of September 2021, THACO launched the "descendant" of Cerato, the KIA K3, with a new design. The 2022 K3 is introduced in 4 versions, including 3 versions using a 1.6L engine and 1 version using a 2.0L engine. The selling price of the KIA K3 ranges from 559-689 million VND, which is considered the "softest" in the segment.

9. KIA Seltos: 1,280 units

Seltos dropped 7 places in the top best-selling cars of the month

In March, KIA Seltos achieved sales of 1,280 units, a slight increase of 25 units compared to February. These sales were enough for Seltos to be in the top 10, but in terms of ranking, it dropped 7 places compared to the previous month.

Currently, the KIA Seltos is assembled domestically by THACO with 3 versions, priced from 589 - 719 million VND. At some points, KIA dealers do not have enough cars to deliver to customers on time.

10. Hyundai SantaFe: 1,201 units

Hyundai SantaFe is the last name in the top 10

In March 2022, Hyundai SantaFe sold 1,201 units, an increase of 51.5% compared to February. Hyundai's SUV model is the second name of the Hyundai brand on this list.

The new generation Hyundai SantaFe was launched in May 2021, assembled domestically by TC Motor with 2 engine options: 2.2L diesel and 2.5L gasoline engine, producing a total of 6 versions, with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The listed price of Hyundai SantaFe is fluctuating from 1.03-1.34 billion VND.
