On the afternoon of December 11, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received a high-ranking delegation from the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia led by Prime Minister and Vice President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Hun Manet, who is on an official visit to Vietnam.
Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his joy at visiting Vietnam, thanked General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong for receiving and showing his warm feelings towards the delegation; respectfully conveyed the greetings of President of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen and Cambodian leaders to the General Secretary. Prime Minister Hun Manet congratulated the important achievements that Vietnam has made, especially in Party building, socio-economic development, and expanding foreign relations. The Cambodian Prime Minister believes that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Vietnamese people will continue to gain many new and greater achievements, successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
Prime Minister Hun Manet highly appreciated the increasingly consolidated and developed Cambodia-Vietnam relationship in all fields, bringing benefits to the people of each country, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world. Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his pride in his contributions to fostering and developing the Cambodia-Vietnam relationship in his previous positions in the Cambodian Army and Youth and in his current position as Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister deeply thanked Vietnam for always supporting and helping Cambodia in the struggle for national liberation, saving the Cambodian people from the genocidal regime and in the cause of national construction and development today. Prime Minister Hun Manet affirmed that Cambodia will work with Vietnam to protect, preserve and nurture the relationship between the two countries to continue to develop to new heights and pass it on to future generations.
Prime Minister Hun Manet informed the General Secretary about the recent situation in Cambodia, including the restructuring of the National Assembly and the new Government, the results of the extraordinary congress of the Cambodian People's Party, as well as the results of the talks with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The two sides had in-depth discussions on cooperation in many fields, especially the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Cambodian People's Party, economic cooperation, defense and security, and relations between the two countries' youth. Prime Minister Hun Manet affirmed that Cambodia will continue to implement the development policies and foreign policies set forth by the Cambodian People's Party; emphasizing the continued importance, development and deepening of the Cambodia-Vietnam relationship.
Prime Minister Hun Manet affirmed that he will closely coordinate with Vietnam to effectively implement treaties, agreements and arrangements between the high-ranking leaders of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Cambodian People's Party, the two countries, actively contributing to maintaining and strengthening the solidarity between the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries as well as between the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Cambodian People's Party and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the three countries of Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong highly appreciated the important significance of Prime Minister Hun Manet's visit, contributing to consolidating and creating a new mark in the Vietnam - Cambodia relationship; congratulated Comrade Hun Manet on being elected Prime Minister, Vice President of the Cambodian People's Party and the great and important achievements that Cambodia has achieved in recent times, especially the successful organization of the 7th National Assembly election, the Cambodian People's Party won a great victory, the new National Assembly and Government were established, the leadership generation was transferred and the Cambodian People's Party successfully held an extraordinary congress. These results demonstrate the people's support for the Cambodian People's Party.
The General Secretary affirmed that Vietnam always supports the cause of building and developing Cambodia; believes that under the reign of the King, the leadership of the Senate, the National Assembly, and the administration of the Government led by Comrade Hun Manet as Prime Minister, the Cambodian people will continue to gain many new and greater achievements, successfully implementing the Political Platform of the Cambodian People's Party for the 2023-2028 period and the Government's Pentagram Strategy.
The General Secretary emphasized that the historical tradition of solidarity, closeness, and mutual assistance between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Cambodian People's Party, the two countries and the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Cambodian People's Party, and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the three countries of Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos are valuable assets, the greatest and most important source of strength, and Cambodia and Laos have helped Vietnam in the cause of national liberation, national unification as well as in the current cause of national construction and development. The General Secretary emphasized that the three countries of Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos are located on the Indochina peninsula, share the Truong Son mountain range, drink the same water of the Mekong River, and have a common origin from the Communist Party of Indochina, have united and helped each other overcome all difficulties, so in the new period, the two sides need to continue to preserve and foster the Vietnam - Cambodia relationship to develop further.
The General Secretary expressed his delight at the increasingly deep and extensive cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Cambodian People's Party, the two States and the peoples of the two countries, which has contributed significantly to maintaining political stability, ensuring national defense and security, developing the economy and society, and enhancing the international position of each country. The General Secretary shared his close feelings and memories of Cambodia as well as with the leaders of the Cambodian Party and State.
The General Secretary suggested that the two sides effectively implement the contents of the meeting between the two Parties' senior leaders, the meeting between the three leaders of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Cambodian People's Party and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party in various fields and the Cooperation Agreement at the 20th Session of the Vietnam - Cambodia Joint Committee, emphasizing that the two Governments need to direct ministries, branches and localities to promote cooperation, share information and experiences, create breakthroughs in economic cooperation, strengthen connectivity between the two economies, consolidate the pillars of defense - security cooperation, closely coordinate and support each other at international and regional forums.
On this occasion, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong sent his warm regards to President of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen and Cambodian leaders.
