General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong receives Mongolian President

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed that the Party, Government and people of Vietnam always remember and appreciate the sentiments and valuable assistance that the Government and people of Mongolia have given to Vietnam.

On the afternoon of November 1, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, who is on a state visit to Vietnam.

At the reception, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed that the Party, Government and people of Vietnam always remember and appreciate the sentiments and valuable assistance that the Government and people of Mongolia have given Vietnam during the past struggle for independence and national reunification and the current cause of national construction and development.

The Party, State and people of Vietnam always wish to promote bilateral cooperation with Mongolia, a traditional friend, to develop more substantially in all fields, in accordance with the interests, potentials and needs of the two countries.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his belief that Mr. Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh's visit to Vietnam will contribute to further promoting the traditional friendship between the two countries, especially in the context that the two countries are looking forward to celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Mongolia diplomatic relations in 2024.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong introduced to the Mongolian President Vietnam's great and comprehensive achievements after more than 35 years of Doi Moi, the national development goals set out at the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, as well as the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, multilateralization and diversification of relations of the Party and State of Vietnam.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong welcomed the results of the talks between President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and President Vo Van Thuong; discussed with Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh a number of major directions and measures to bring the bilateral relationship to a new height in the new period; including exchanges and cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the ruling Mongolian People's Party, enhancing comprehensive cooperation for the benefit of the people of the two countries, actively contributing to peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world.

Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh thanked General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong for taking the time to receive the delegation; congratulated the great and historic achievements that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have achieved in nearly 40 years of Renovation and socialist construction; in which, in recent years, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

The President expressed his belief that under the strong leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Vietnam will successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and fulfill the goals set for 2030 and 2045.

President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh expressed his appreciation for the traditional relations between the two countries; especially the historic event of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Mongolia.

The President affirmed that Mongolia always cherishes the good traditional friendship between the two countries and considers Vietnam a leading partner in Southeast Asia.

President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh expressed his wish to continue promoting relations between the Mongolian People's Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam, contributing to firmly consolidating the political foundation for bilateral relations.

The President discussed with the General Secretary the results of his talks with President Vo Van Thuong and the agreements between the two sides on enhancing cooperation in various fields.

Expressing his high agreement with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s opinions on major measures to deepen bilateral relations in the coming time, President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh emphasized his desire to work with Vietnam to bring bilateral relations to a new height.
