In the new context, the General Secretary emphasized that the country's scientific and technological intellectuals, especially those in VUSTA, must not be subjective, but need to make more efforts and strive, and make more effective contributions to the cause of rapid development of the country.
He suggested that VUSTA continue to innovate its activities, provide consultation, criticism, improve policy mechanisms and documents, focus on using staff and honoring intellectuals. In addition, it is necessary to have a plan to arrange and use intellectuals reasonably, have policies to attract young intellectuals with formal training, capacity and moral qualities to participate in research activities, institutes, enterprises, and overseas Vietnamese intellectuals to actively participate in giving advice on cooperation in the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, Chairman of VUSTA, said that in recent years, the number of domestic and foreign scientific and technological intellectuals has been increasingly gathered. From 15 small member associations, there are now more than 2.2 million intellectuals gathered in 156 member associations. He said that VUSTA will further promote the activities of gathering, uniting and creating favorable conditions for member associations and intellectuals to promote their intellectual potential to effectively serve the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country, contributing to making science and technology the leading driving force in building and defending the Fatherland.
