Learning from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong about great solidarity

On the afternoon of July 31, when I visited my friend's father in the hospital, I saw the book "Promoting the tradition of great national unity, building our country to be increasingly rich, civilized and happy" by the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong placed right on the head of the patient's bed. Seeing me looking at the book, my friend said, "That's your treasure." Then he told me that he was participating in the Village Front Working Committee. He always put this book on the table, where it was easiest to see. When he had to go to the hospital for treatment, the first thing he put in his bag was the book, then his clothes and personal belongings.

I turned to look at him as if to verify what you said. He nodded and said: “I have read it over and over again for the third time, it really resonates. This is a valuable handbook on building and promoting the tradition of great national unity. The writing style is simple, easy to understand, easy to remember, profound, helping people like me who work for the Front to study and apply it in practice.”

According to him, each article and speech in the book is a reminder and encouragement for cadres and party members, especially cadres of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, to always respect the people, learn from the people, be close to the people, understand the people, and especially listen to and convey the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of the people to the Party Committee and the government. Only then can the strength of great national unity be truly promoted, creating a combined strength to successfully carry out all tasks.

Throughout the speeches, articles, and addresses in the book, the late General Secretary's special attention, leadership, and close direction for the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations are shown. He advised the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations to thoroughly grasp the idea that "people are the root", taking it as the core foundation for all activities, at all levels; at the same time, he reminded each cadre and party member, especially cadres in the Front system and socio-political organizations, to take "people's peace as the root, people's interests as the center, build a position of people's hearts, promote people's consensus", "respect people, be close to people, understand people, learn from people and be responsible to people", "listen to people, speak so that people understand, make people trust"...

Former General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong visited Hai Duong twice. On November 14, 2009, he was then Chairman of the National Assembly and attended the Great Unity Day with cadres and people of Bo Duong village (Ninh Giang) to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front. He advised the cadres and people of Bo Duong village that no matter what difficulties they encountered, all classes of people must always unite according to Ho Chi Minh's ideology. Strive to compete and make efforts to build new rural areas, new lives, and preserve good cultural values...

In Hai Duong, over the past time, imbued with the ideology as well as fully and deeply aware of the position and importance of national solidarity, Party committees and authorities at all levels have focused on leading and directing the building and promotion of the great national solidarity bloc, constantly consolidating and gathering social classes, strata, and religions for the task of socio-economic development, improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

On August 1 and 2, the Fatherland Front of Hai Duong province organized the 17th Congress of Delegates for the 2024-2029 term. With the spirit of "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Development", the congress has the task of evaluating the results of implementing the Resolution of the 16th Congress for the 2019-2024 term, and setting out directions and action programs for the new term. More than ever, the book on promoting the tradition of great national solidarity by the late General Secretary is even more valuable, a valuable handbook to guide the Fatherland Front at all levels and member organizations in determining solutions and key tasks for the new term, calling on all classes of people to join hands and be determined to successfully implement the Resolution of the Party Congress at all levels.

We believe that the spirit of great national solidarity of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will continue to strongly inspire those working in the Front to continue their mission, consolidate and promote the strength of the great national solidarity bloc, thereby contributing to building a rich and civilized homeland of Hai Duong.
