New Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko officially took office on April 8 after receiving the transfer of power from his predecessor Sidiki Kaba.
Ousmane Sonko was appointed by Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye on April 2. “The transition took place in very good conditions, allowing us to begin to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to us from this moment,” the new Prime Minister said. He added that the transfer of responsibility realizes the choice of President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye to coordinate and promote the actions of the government, with 25 ministers and 5 ministers, formed since April 5.
For his part, outgoing Prime Minister Sidiki Kaba expressed his hope that his successor will lead the country on the path of prosperity, strengthening peace, national harmony and national unity.
