Prime Minister wishes Tet and encourages officials, doctors and patients in Hanoi

* At Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, reporting to the Prime Minister on the situation of Tet duty, Hospital Director Duong Duc Hung said that this Tet holiday, the hospital has arranged enough human resources, machinery, equipment, and medical supplies to care for and treat 450 patients, including about 100 seriously ill patients who cannot be discharged; at the same time, arranging shifts and teams on duty, always ready to receive, admit, and handle emergency cases. In addition, through the Telemedicine system, the hospital can mobilize more forces to handle and coordinate, support hospitals in examining and treating people...

On behalf of the Government, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the spirit and responsibility of all cadres, doctors, and medical staff of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital who sacrificed themselves in the common joy of the country and their families to serve the sick; at the same time, he shared the hardships that the patients and their families are going through, especially during the Tet holiday.

Recalling President Ho Chi Minh's teaching "A doctor is like a loving mother", the Prime Minister requested that the hospital's staff, doctors and medical workers take care of patients as if they were their own relatives; feel the pain of patients as if it were their own pain; as long as the hospital still has patients, the doctors and medical workers cannot rest.

Highlighting the country's outstanding achievements in 2023, the Prime Minister emphasized the important contributions of the health sector, especially in preventing and fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, to create conditions for the whole country to restore and develop the socio-economy, including the contribution of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital.

The Prime Minister requested that during these Tet holidays, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital must prioritize receiving and actively treating patients; be on duty and admit patients with the highest responsibility, receive patients as quickly and promptly as possible; be ready to be on duty and handle any incidents that may occur; fully prepare equipment and facilities; meet requirements for medicines... In addition, actively support lower levels in terms of expertise, especially remote medical examination and treatment through the Telemedicine system; ensure nutrition and spirit for patients, especially those who live far from their families and in their hometowns.

The Prime Minister also hopes that the Hospital will strengthen its practice summary, scientific research and dissemination of achievements, especially in areas where the Hospital has traditions and strengths, as well as issues that have occurred in practice; contribute to institutional development, propose solutions to obstacles; participate in the digital transformation process, support lower levels through training human resources in areas where the Hospital has strengths...

On this occasion, the Prime Minister requested authorities at all levels and functional forces, especially at the grassroots level, to strictly control the burning and transportation of firecrackers; control and avoid the use of alcohol when participating in traffic; maintain and ensure food hygiene and safety... to contribute to limiting accidents, injuries, poisoning... affecting people's health and lives.

At the Emergency Clinic of Viet Duc Hospital, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited, encouraged, and presented Tet gifts to patients receiving emergency treatment there. Talking to doctors and nurses at the Clinic about the emergency treatment of accident cases during Tet, the Prime Minister asked the doctors and nurses to make efforts to take advantage of the golden hours, prioritizing saving people first, then patients completing paperwork and procedures later.

* Visiting, wishing a happy new year, and giving gifts to encourage staff, doctors, and patients at the National Children's Hospital, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sympathized with the patients, their families, and doctors who still had to stay in the hospital and could not go home to celebrate Tet; expressed his emotions and thanked the medical team at the National Children's Hospital who were making efforts to treat the children, as well as organizing entertainment activities for the children, and taking care of the patients' families to partially compensate for the disadvantages of having to stay in the hospital during this time.

The Prime Minister acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the achievements of the Hospital over the past 55 years; emphasized that the National Children's Hospital is the first line in terms of expertise and the last line in terms of medical examination and treatment, so the hospital's mission is very important, both summarizing and conducting scientific research, and examining and treating children with many different diseases; many difficult cases are transferred to the Hospital.

The Prime Minister hopes that the hospital's medical staff will continue to improve their professional qualifications and medical ethics, demonstrate the spirit of "Doctors are like kind mothers", do a good job in scientific research, and participate in training human resources and expertise for the whole country related to the care and treatment of children. "This is both an obligation, responsibility, love, and sharing with the children's families, contributing to improving the physical strength of Vietnamese people", the Prime Minister pointed out.

The Prime Minister emphasized that if each person is healthy, the whole nation will be healthy; children are the future of the country, if they are healthy, our nation will be healthy and develop strongly; he hoped that doctors and nurses would make efforts to take care of the children's medical examination and treatment, nutrition and mental health during treatment; at the same time, care for, encourage and create favorable conditions for the children's relatives, especially on this occasion.

The Prime Minister requested the Hospital to do a good job of disease prevention, ensure environmental hygiene and food safety, and quickly complete the investment in building the second facility in Quoc Oai, Hanoi.
