Training on classifying domestic solid waste at source for thousands of people in Hai Duong

Thousands of people in 10 districts, towns and cities of Hai Duong were trained in the topic of classifying domestic solid waste at source.

Implementing the Project "Solid waste treatment in Hai Duong province in the period of 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030", on December 20-21, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment organized training on waste classification at source for about 2,700 people from 10 districts, towns and cities (except Hai Duong city and Nam Sach district).

Attending the training were representatives of district-level specialized departments; leaders of People's Committees of communes, wards and towns; representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and commune-level political organizations; land - construction - environment officials; heads of villages and residential areas... Representatives of the Center for Technology and Environmental Pollution Control Data, Department of Pollution Control (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment); experts of the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment; Minh Thai Environmental Company Limited; Faculty of Environment and Traffic Safety - University of Transport participated in conveying the contents of the training topic on classifying domestic solid waste at source.

According to the report of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the province has piloted the model of classifying domestic solid waste at source and composting organic waste according to the project in Nam Sach district (all communes and towns) with 39,581 households; 2 communes (Thanh Hai commune in Thanh Ha district, Cam Van commune in Cam Giang district) with 5,590 households; Binh Giang district implemented in 2 communes (Vinh Hong and Hung Thang) with 6,029 households.

In addition, the whole province has more than 70,000 households participating in classifying and composting organic waste, reaching 13.3% of the total number of households. After classifying and composting, the amount of waste that must be transferred to the treatment plant has decreased by 50%.
