More than 13% of households in Hai Duong classify waste at source.

According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Hai Duong has about 70,000 households classifying waste at source, an increase of 19,600 households compared to the end of 2023, accounting for about 13.3% of households in the province.

After sorting, the amount of waste is reduced by 50%, equivalent to about 76 tons/day, thereby reducing waste treatment costs, transportation costs, and limiting environmental pollution. People have clean fertilizer for production, reducing costs.

In recent times, many localities in the province, Farmers' Associations, Women's Associations... have actively promoted, mobilized, and guided members and many households to classify waste at source. The number of households participating in this activity has increased every year. Some localities have done well in this movement such as: Nam Sach, Binh Giang, Tu Ky...

However, the current waste classification at source still has some limitations such as: the construction of composting cells is not uniform, the collection teams have not fully implemented the composting process, so the efficiency of compost is not high...
