Chinese national sentenced to prison for stealing property in Cam Giang

On July 16, the People's Court of Jinjiang District tried defendant Lu Ji (born in 1994, in Yandong Town, Bamayao Autonomous County, Guangxi Province, China) for theft and destruction of property.

On October 10, 2023, Lu Ji entered Vietnam for tourism. He rented a room at the AMY Hotel, located in Bac Ninh City (Bac Ninh). In need of money, Lu Ji and A Tien (Chen Zi Qian) (a Chinese national whose identity and background are unknown and have not been arrested) came up with the idea of ​​stealing property.

From October 15 to 17, 2023, Lu Ji and his accomplices committed two thefts in Cam Giang district.

At about 4:00 a.m. on October 15, 2023, at the Dien May Xanh store in Trang Ky village, Tan Truong commune, Lu Ji and his accomplices used 2 iron bars to break the window and safe in the storage room, appropriating 58.3 million VND.

At about 4:00 a.m. on October 17, 2023, at Yihong Vietnam International Co., Ltd. in Dong Giao village, Luong Dien commune, Lu Ji and his accomplices continued to use 2 iron bars to break the office door and the wooden drawer of the desk to steal 10 million VND.

In addition, Lu Ji confessed that on October 20, 2023, he also committed a theft of property in Bac Ninh province.

The court sentenced Lu Ji to 31 months in prison for theft and 6 months in prison for destruction of property. Lu Ji's total sentence is 37 months in prison.
