Mr. Thich Minh Tue only walks again when there are no more crowds.

Sharing on VTV News at 7pm on June 9, Mr. Thich Minh Tue said that he will go to a certain place, a certain mountain cave, then go down to a nearby village to beg for food and practice for himself. There is a peaceful place like that for monks to study. Monks also need time to be peaceful, only when necessary can they walk, but the walking must be quiet, without anyone following.

According to reporter Lien Lien, Mr. Thich Minh Tue plans to stop at a certain area after walking all over the country. When it is convenient, he will only go once every few years, not always on foot. If people still gather in large numbers, causing disorder and traffic safety problems, Mr. Thich Minh Tue will choose a place to stay.

Previously, according to information from the Government Committee for Religious Affairs on the morning of June 3, Mr. Thich Minh Tue (real name Le Anh Tu) voluntarily stopped walking for alms.

According to the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, Mr. Le Anh Tu was born in 1981 in Ky Van commune, Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh province, registered permanent residence at village 6, Ia To commune, Ia Grai district, Gia Lai province, currently has no fixed residential address.

From 2017 to 2023, Mr. Le Anh Tu practiced alms-giving and walked from the South to the North and vice versa three times. During that time, Mr. Le Anh Tu's travel and practice of alms-giving went smoothly, without any difficulties or obstacles and without affecting security and order. 2024 was the fourth time Mr. Tu walked from Khanh Hoa province, following the main road to Cao Bang - Ha Giang and is currently going in the opposite direction, now reaching the Central region.

However, on the return journey of this fourth walk, a large crowd gathered to follow Mr. Le Anh Tu, affecting security, order and the environment. Notably, on May 30, 2024, a man in the group named Luong Thanh Son, residing in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, suffered from heat stroke, multiple organ failure, and gastrointestinal bleeding leading to death; followed by on June 2, 2024, two women following Mr. Tu and the group suffered from heat stroke, exhaustion, and collapsed on the road. The authorities promptly took them to the hospital for treatment.

In response to the above unfortunate incident, the authorities met and discussed with Mr. Le Anh Tu about the State's consistent policy of respecting freedom of belief and religion of all people; local authorities have always cared for and created conditions for Mr. Le Anh Tu to walk and practice according to his wishes, but it is necessary to ensure the safety of people's lives and health and social stability. Mr. Le Anh Tu has clearly recognized the rights and obligations of a citizen and voluntarily stopped walking for alms.
