On the evening of May 30, the leader of Hue Central Hospital said that the unit received a patient named Luong Thanh S. (47 years old, residing in Ho Chi Minh City) but he died. The body is currently kept at the hospital morgue to complete procedures to hand over to the family.

Mr. Luong Thanh S. was transferred from Quang Tri Provincial General Hospital to Hue Central Hospital on the afternoon of May 30 in a deep coma due to heat shock and stroke.

Mr. S. joined the delegation following Mr. Thich Minh Tue three days ago. When the delegation passed through Ai Tu town (Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province), he fainted and was transferred to Trieu Phong District General Hospital at 10:30 a.m. the same day.

Mr. S. was admitted to the hospital with cyanosis, deep coma, and respiratory arrest. The patient was admitted to the intensive care unit before being transferred to the intensive care and anti-poison department for treatment.

With these symptoms, Mr. S. was transferred to Quang Tri Provincial General Hospital for treatment before being transferred to Hue Central Hospital.

Recently, the image of Mr. Thich Minh Tue (real name Le Anh Tu, from Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh province) begging for alms through many provinces and cities has received much public attention. In early May 2024, when he passed through several provinces in the Central region, many people believed to be monks began to appear voluntarily accompanying him.

According to doctors, heat stroke is a condition in which the body temperature increases to the point of causing damage to the central nervous system and other tissues. In hot weather, the body both generates heat during activities and absorbs heat from the environment, so the risk of hyperthermia due to prolonged exposure to hot weather is very high.

When body temperature increases, the body will perform mechanisms to regulate body temperature such as rapid breathing, dilation of blood vessels under the skin, sweating, and inhibiting the body's heat generation process.

When seeing a victim with heat stroke, the doctor recommends quickly moving the patient out of the hot area, into a cool area, removing some clothes, using measures to cool down by fanning, wiping the whole body with a damp towel. If the patient is conscious, give them cool water to rehydrate, try to lower the patient's body temperature, and quickly call 115 for emergency support.

To prevent heat stroke, you should not go out in the sun, especially between 11am and 3pm, because this is the hottest time. With the current weather, try to go to a cool place after a period of time outdoors to rest for 10-15 minutes to cool down your body, and wear protective clothing to prevent dehydration.

You also need to replenish water more often, about 2 - 2.5 liters of water on average.
