On the morning of 'New Year's Eve' (December 29), a 5-seat car driving on Truong Sa Street, District 3 (Ho Chi Minh City) crashed into a crowded coffee shop, knocked down an electrical cabinet, a motorbike, and injured a man.
At around 7:30 a.m., a male driver of a service car was driving on Truong Sa Street, heading from District 1 to Tan Binh District. Just after passing Coopmart Nhieu Loc, Ward 12, the car suddenly jumped onto the sidewalk of a coffee shop, knocked down an electrical cabinet and two parked motorbikes. A man around 60 years old was hit, his thigh stuck under the car.
Ms. Nga, the owner of a coffee shop near the accident site, said that many people then joined together to lift the car so that the man could pull his legs out from under the car. The victim suffered injuries to his thigh and leg, but was still conscious and was taken to the hospital. "The car crashed into the shop very quickly, at that time there were about 5-6 people drinking water, luckily no one was seriously injured," Ms. Nga said.
At the scene, the car was smashed in the front and lying in front of the coffee shop. Many furniture and tables were thrown and disturbed around. A motorbike was damaged and stuck under the car.
