Female student in Nghe An commits suicide due to suspected school violence

This information was confirmed by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huy Bang, Principal of Vinh University High School for the Gifted. Teacher Dang Viet Ha, homeroom teacher of class 10A15, is working with the police. The school has assigned another teacher to replace this homeroom teacher, until the final conclusion of the authorities.

On April 18, Tin Tuc newspaper reported that in a report sent to the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) signed by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Cuc, Vice Principal of Vinh University (Nghe An), it stated: On the evening of April 15, the school received information that female student NTYN (class 10A15, Vinh University High School for the Gifted) committed suicide at her home in Trung Do ward, Vinh city. The school's board of directors worked with the Assistant Student Manager, the school's Youth Union, the homeroom teacher and representatives of students of class 10A15. The school sent representatives to pay their respects and send NTYN off to her final resting place.

The leaders of Vinh University requested Vinh University High School for the Gifted to coordinate with the authorities and the family to investigate and clarify the cause of this sad incident. At the same time, they affirmed: The female student appearing in the clip online is not a NTYN student and is not on campus.

Also on April 18, a representative of the Ministry of Education and Training said that the Ministry had discussed with Vinh University High School for the Gifted (Vinh University) and the Nghe An Department of Education and Training, requesting that the investigating units promptly clarify the incident. The Ministry of Education and Training requested that the units promptly pay attention, encourage, and stabilize the learning spirit of students, avoiding negative developments affecting their psychology.

Previously, on April 16, social networks were abuzz with information that a female student at Vinh University High School for the Gifted committed suicide due to school violence with the content: "The female student was one of the best students in the class, but suddenly dropped out of school and told her mother "I'm afraid to go to school, I'm afraid to go to school". Later, when her mother found out, she found out that her child was beaten, abused and psychologically suppressed.

Faced with this reality, the female student’s mother sought the head teacher’s help and asked to transfer her to another class. However, the school refused to allow the female student to transfer and promised to handle the matter seriously. The female student, unable to bear the pressure, committed suicide.
