Scenes of people in the countryside going to the Tet market, wrapping banh chung, and preparing peach and kumquat trees were brought into Tran Nguyen's paintings.

On a bamboo bed placed in the yard, a tray of fruit and a bouquet of flowers are fully displayed, next to it is a large pot used to boil banh chung. While the old man is arranging peach blossoms, the children sit next to him playing and chatting.
In the drawingTaste of Tet, Tran Nguyen continued to describe the scene of people preparing to welcome the new year with banh chung, kumquat, and fruit trays.

Tran Nguyen said that despite many years of studying and working away from home, the memories of the old Tet still exist in his mind. As life becomes more and more developed, the Tet atmosphere also gradually changes every year, making the artist always regretful. "The image of grandparents, parents and grandchildren preparing trays of five fruits, preparing peach blossoms for Tet, and wrapping cakes under the eaves of the house left in me unforgettable memories," the author said.
Afternoon of 30th Tetis Tran Nguyen's favorite painting. The painting tells the story of his family's New Year celebration, when grandparents wrapped Chung cakes and displayed a tray of five fruits on a bamboo bed. The old house with its brick yard and moss-covered rainwater tank evoked many emotions for the artist.

WorkHappy New Year.
In addition to his drawing time, Tran Nguyen takes the opportunity to visit ancient villages such as Duong Lam and Cu Da to learn about the traditions and culture of the countryside. Because the model landscape is gradually fading away and is no longer intact, he has to ask the locals to add details and create a complete scene.

Tran Nguyen, 34 years old, was born into a farming family, with no one in the arts. He loved drawing since he was a child, and passed the art design exam at the Hanoi University of Theatre and Cinema. After graduating, he worked as a graphic designer at a Japanese game company but later quit because he could not find joy in his work.
In addition to rural themes, the artist has painted many works about lotus flowers, which have been praised for their realistic appearance. Currently, Tran Nguyen continues to create works about the countryside. "Preserving cultural beauty is my top priority, and preserving it through painting is my greatest goal," the artist said.
