Dangers at old apartment buildings in Hai Duong City before storm No. 3

Some households living in old apartment buildings such as B2, B3 Binh Minh (Pham Ngu Lao ward), May Bom (Nguyen Trai ward) have proactively taken measures to prevent storms according to the government's recommendations. However, many households are quite subjective.

Residents living on the upper floors of B3 Binh Minh building have proactively moved ornamental plants and objects placed on railings and shelves to the ground to avoid falling due to the wind. Residents have also proactively checked and reinforced doors, especially windows.

However, there are still some potted plants on the railing that have not been moved (photo taken at 8:55 a.m. on September 6). These potted plants could fall onto the roofs of the houses on the lower floors if there is a strong gust of wind.

At B2 area of Binh Minh apartment building, the situation is similar. Some potted plants are still hanging precariously on the railing (photo taken at 9am).

According to the reporter's assessment, the Pump collective has a higher level of potential danger from storms than the two areas B2 and B3 Binh Minh.

This area has many elderly people and dilapidated houses. This banyan tree is at risk of being uprooted or having its branches broken if there is a strong wind. With this location, if the branches break, they could fall straight onto the tiled roof of the dilapidated house below (photo taken at 8:27).

Going deeper inside, this large banyan tree had its branches broken in a previous storm... Hai Duong City, especially Pham Ngu Lao and Nguyen Trai wards, need to urgently check and prune potentially dangerous trees.

With the wall structure weakened due to decades of age, the resistance to strong winds of the Pump Apartment complex is also weakened.

"I heard that this is a super typhoon, so it must be very windy and rainy. We have done everything we can, we are prepared, we just hope the super typhoon will pass quickly," said a resident.
