On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons on October 1 and the Month of Action for the Elderly in 2023, many localities of Hai Duong organized meaningful activities.
On September 29, Kim Thanh district leaders visited and presented gifts to the elderly living alone and without support in the district. The delegation presented 18 gifts, each worth 1.2 million VND.
Currently, Kim Thanh district has more than 24,110 elderly people, of which more than 22,100 elderly people are participating in local Elderly Association organizations.
On the same day, Thanh Ha district leaders organized 4 delegations to visit and give gifts to elderly people in difficult circumstances in the areas of Ha Dong, Ha Nam, Ha Tay, and Ha Bac.
The delegation presented 48 gifts, each worth 700,000 VND, to the elderly. The Elderly Associations of communes and towns also allocated funds to present gifts to the elderly in difficult circumstances.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly presented 8 gifts, worth 500,000 VND each, to the elderly in Thanh Ha district.
Previously, on September 28, leaders of Cam Giang and Gia Loc districts also gave gifts to the elderly in difficult circumstances.
In Cam Giang, district leaders presented gifts to 6 elderly people in especially difficult circumstances in the communes of Thach Loi, Luong Dien, Cam Dien, Cam Phuc, Cao An and Dinh Son; each gift was worth 1.2 million VND.
On this occasion, the district also used the district's Elderly Care and Protection Fund to present 11 gifts, each worth 300,000 VND, to elderly people in difficult circumstances in the remaining communes and towns.
In Gia Loc district, district leaders visited and presented gifts to 36 elderly people, with a total value of nearly 40 million VND.
Activities aim to encourage the elderly to live happily and healthily, continue to promote prestige and experience in building cultural families and civilized residential areas, and promote the development of the elderly association movement.
