Responding to reporters from Hai Duong Newspaper, some SIM dealer owners on Tran Hung Dao Street, Dien Bien Phu (Hai Duong City) said they did not know that network operators nationwide would stop selling mobile SIMs at dealers and points of sale from September 10.

Meanwhile, representatives of some network operators in the province said that since September 10, the network operators have locked the users granted to agents to register and activate SIMs for customers. For the number of SIMs remaining at agents and points of sale, the network operators will proceed to close the KIT (network activation kit). Customers who have purchased SIMs from agents and points of sale at this time need to go to the network operator's transaction stores to activate the SIM and standardize subscriber information.

Customers can buy SIM cards through the network operator's transaction stores, large chain channels such as Mobile World, Dien May Xanh, FPT... or buy online on the network operator's website. Customers can also download the network operator's application to register and activate the SIM.

This is the latest move by the Ministry of Information and Communications and network operators to limit the proliferation of junk SIM cards on the market.
