Receiving 1 million USD, Van Lam had to change teams twice

Goalkeeper Dang Van Lam will play for Phu Dong Ninh Binh Club in the 2024-2025 national first division. Currently, the Northern representative is still completing the final procedures to be able to register Van Lam before the new season.

This is the third team that Dang Van Lam has trained for in just 2 months. Initially, he announced that he would stay in Binh Dinh because of his contract. In mid-August, Van Lam's transfer to Ho Chi Minh City Youth was confirmed. After about a month of training, he played for Ninh Binh again.

Dang Van Lam joined Ho Chi Minh City Youth Club with a contract fee of 6.8 billion VND/year. The contract lasts for 4 years, so the total fee is 27.2 billion VND (about 1.1 million USD). Van Lam is the 4th Vietnamese football player to receive this amount of money in a short period of time.

Previously, Tuan Hai received 1 million USD for the next 3 years of his contract with Hanoi FC. Quang Hai was also paid 27 billion VND for a 3-year contract with Hanoi Police Club. Hoang Duc is said to receive 6.8 billion VND as a signing bonus at his new team.

After Dang Van Lam, Ninh Binh Club can welcome more new players. They are determined to achieve good results this season. In the previous period, Ninh Binh mainly focused on the goal of staying in the league.

For Dang Van Lam personally, the decision to play in the national first division is a big risk. The goalkeeper born in 1993 will have a hard time competing with Nguyen Filip in the Vietnam national team. He needs a suitable playing environment to maintain his form and improve his skills. The first division is unlikely to meet that requirement.

However, having signed a valuable contract, Dang Van Lam had to accept being "transferred" to other teams. There was a source saying that Van Lam would play for PVF-CAND, but the team denied the transfer.
