September 12, opening of the 37th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee

At this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee spent a lot of time giving opinions on the following draft laws: Law on Chemicals (amended); Law on Special Consumption Tax; Law on Corporate Income Tax (amended); Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Advertising; Law on Employment (amended); Law on Data; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance; Law on Teachers; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Supervisory Activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils; Law on Management and Investment of State Capital in Enterprises.

The National Assembly Standing Committee also reviewed and commented on draft resolutions and ordinances: Joint Resolution between the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Government, and the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front detailing the organization of meetings with voters of People's Council deputies at all levels; Joint Resolution between the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Government, and the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front detailing the organization of meetings with voters of National Assembly deputies (amending Joint Resolution No. 525/2012/NQLT/UBTVQH13-DCTUBTWMTQVN on meetings with voters of National Assembly deputies); Ordinance on Management and Protection of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Relic Site.

Regarding supervision work, the National Assembly Standing Committee will review and comment on: The Government's report on the implementation of the Constitution, laws, and resolutions of the National Assembly; The National Assembly's report on people's petitions in August 2024; The 2024 work report of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy; the Government's reports on crime prevention and control, law enforcement, and corruption prevention and control in 2024.

The National Assembly Standing Committee also commented on the Report on the results of the National Assembly's thematic supervision delegation on "Implementation of policies and laws on real estate market management and social housing development from 2015 to the end of 2023"; the State Audit's work report for 2024 and audit plan for 2025; the Report of the supervision delegation and the adoption of the National Assembly Standing Committee's thematic supervision resolution on "Implementation of policies and laws on ensuring traffic order and safety from 2009 to the end of 2023"; the Government's report on citizen reception, settlement of administrative complaints and denunciations in 2024 (including the content of the reports of the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, and the State Audit).

Regarding decisions on important issues, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and approve the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

At the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee will summarize the 8th Extraordinary Session and give opinions on preparations for the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
