Nearly 300 images, documents and artifacts on display at the Vietnam Military History Museum outline the process of building, fighting and growing of the Vietnam People's Army.
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, the Vietnam Military History Museum organizes the exhibition "Heroic Army - Strong National Defense", introducing nearly 300 images, documents and artifacts. The exhibition includes 3 main contents: "The birth of the revolutionary army", "Determined to fight, determined to win - For national independence" and "Strong National Defense - Protecting the Fatherland".The images, artifacts and documents presented at the exhibition are valuable documents, kept at the Vietnam Military History Museum and units throughout the army, and are being displayed for the first time. Typical examples include: 5 Gold Star Medals awarded to the Vietnam People's Army; Certificates and First Class Military Exploit Medals awarded to the Liberation Army, the Southern Uprising Army and the Bac Son Guerrilla Army in 1948...The flag of the Heroic Unit of the Liberation Armed Forces with 154 medals and orders awarded by the Provisional Government of the Republic of South Vietnam to the 367th Special Forces Group is displayed in the content section "Determined to fight, determined to win - For national independence"The DKZB, DKZ, heavy machine guns and medium machine guns associated with the nation's long resistance wars are displayed in the exhibition. These are weapons our army used or captured from the enemy during the period 1964 - 1975.Artifacts from left to right: Steering wheel equipped on the ship of Brigade 125, the unit protecting Truong Sa archipelago (March 1988); 105mm shell used by the Quang Ninh province artillery regiment to fire at the enemy to protect the northern border in Mong Cai (February 1979); 122mm shell used by the 68th artillery regiment to fire support fire to destroy the enemy in Lang Son (February 1979)Making a big impression at the exhibition were modern national defense and security equipment. Among them, UAV-BXL.01 is an unmanned aerial vehicle product researched, designed and manufactured by Factory Z131/General Department of Defense Industry. This is a suicide propeller UAV with a penetrating warhead to destroy targets: tanks, armored vehicles, self-propelled artillery, radar stations and other types of armored technical vehicles in a fixed state with a wall thickness of no more than 250mm.
