On the morning of October 12, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with the Department of Statistics to conduct a preliminary assessment of the productivity of rice fields and rice varieties in Ninh Giang, Binh Giang, and Thanh Mien districts.

Leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the General Statistics Office inspected the actual situation and evaluated rice productivity in Ninh Giang district.

According to the assessment, this year's crop has many complicated weather developments. However, with the timely leadership, direction and guidance of the agricultural sector, localities have controlled harmful organisms well, so rice grows and develops well. The average rice yield in the province is estimated at 60.6 quintals/ha, equivalent to last year's crop and 1.4 quintals/ha higher than the initial assessment. Some localities have high-yield rice areas such as Kinh Mon town (68 quintals/ha), Ninh Giang districts (63 quintals/ha), Nam Sach and Cam Giang (both reaching 61 quintals/ha)... The rice yield in Chi Linh city is the lowest in the province, reaching only 56 quintals/ha.

To date, the province has harvested more than 18,000 hectares of winter-spring rice, reaching about 30%, 3-5 days later than the same period last year. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has requested districts, towns and cities to direct farmers to mobilize machinery and quickly harvest ripe winter-spring rice to free up land for winter crops. For late-season tea, it is necessary to zone off areas damaged by pests and diseases to focus on care and timely spraying, minimizing damage caused by pests and diseases.
