The leaders of Hai Duong Lung Hospital said that the number of patients with respiratory infections, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia... admitted to the hospital in recent days is quite high. On April 4, the hospital was treating 424 patients, accounting for 94% of the total number of actual beds and far exceeding the target number of beds (325). The patients are mainly elderly people.
35% of the patients being treated at the hospital need oxygen, 10 seriously ill patients need ventilators. In particular, about 10 patients with pneumonia, severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, who do not respond to the current treatment drugs of the hospital, must be transferred to a higher level.
At Hai Duong Children's Hospital, about 200 patients are admitted every day, more than half of whom suffer from respiratory diseases.
Doctors warn that the weather is in the transitional season, viruses and bacteria causing respiratory infections and infectious diseases are active.
