A senior US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said President Joe Biden's administration could announce more aid packages that could amount to about $5.5 billion after October 1.
On September 25, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced a military aid package for Ukraine worth 375 million USD, including many weapons, ammunition and modern military equipment.
In a statement, Secretary of State Blinken reaffirmed the US commitment to protecting Ukraine's security, saying that "the United States and the international coalition will stand with Ukraine."
The US chief diplomat also announced that Washington will deploy this new aid as quickly as possible.
The US aid package will include ammunition and support equipment for HIMARS missile launchers, cluster munitions and artillery shells, armored and light vehicles for artillery forces, small arms and anti-tank weapons such as Javelin and TOW missiles and AT-4 anti-tank guns.
In addition, the latest aid package also includes components, spare parts, auxiliary equipment, training and transportation.

Since the conflict between Russia and Ukraine began, the United States has provided about $175 billion in military and economic aid to Kiev.
On September 11, the US also announced a $717 million economic and humanitarian aid package for Ukraine, including $325 million for developing new energy sources, $290 million for humanitarian aid and $102 million for mine clearance.
Moscow has not yet commented on Washington's move.
