Selling old air conditioners of unknown origin, the owner of the establishment in Ai Quoc ward (Hai Duong city) was fined more than 33 million VND.

On April 22, the Director of the Market Management Department of Hai Duong province decided to administratively fine Mr. Doan Van H. in Ai Quoc ward (Hai Duong city) 33.25 million VND for: not registering to establish a business household in cases where registration is required according to regulations; trading in goods of unknown origin; not posting prices of goods at locations where prices must be posted according to regulations of law. At the same time, confiscated the violating goods including many hot and cold air conditioners of various types with a total value of more than 50 million VND.

Previously, on April 12, Market Management Team No. 1 of the Provincial Market Management Department coordinated with the Economic Police Department of the Provincial Police to conduct a surprise inspection of Mr. H's air conditioner business. In addition to discovering that this business was selling 17 hot units and 17 cold units of various types of air conditioners of unknown origin; this business also did not have a business registration nor did it list the prices of goods according to regulations.

Household electrical appliances in general, and air conditioners in particular, have a high risk of fire and explosion safety; the use of electrical equipment, both old and new, if not checked and tested for safety, can easily lead to unsafe risks and fires, especially in the coming time when temperatures rise and electricity demand increases.
