Compared with other crops in Hoang Hoa Tham commune (Chi Linh), honeysuckle brings higher economic efficiency.
Representative of Hoang Hoa Tham Commune People's Committee evaluated the results of planting money tree in the locality.
After 2 years of growing honeysuckle on an area of 460 m2 of propagation model and 9,540 m2 of experiment to perfect the process at 9 households of Hoang Hoa Tham commune (Chi Linh) of honeysuckle following GACP-WHO, Hanoi Center for Research on Cultivation and Processing of Medicinal Plants (Institute of Medicinal Materials) has evaluated the effectiveness of this plant.
The plant grows and develops well, suitable for local weather and climate. The average yield of dried honeysuckle flowers is 0.8 tons/ha, dried honeysuckle stalks are over 7.5 tons/ha; the content of chlorogenic acid in flowers is higher than the regulations of Vietnam Pharmacopoeia 5 from 1.57-2.5%; the content of chlorogenic acid (%) and loganin (%) in honeysuckle stalks is higher from 0.4-1.2%, 4-12 times higher than the old honeysuckle variety grown locally. The economic efficiency of the model is from 100 - 202 million VND/ha/year, 3-4 times higher than rice and corn.

That is also the result of the implementation of the Project "Building a model for producing medicinal plants like honeysuckle in the direction of GACP-WHO in Hai Duong province" implemented by the Hanoi Center for Research on Cultivation and Processing of Medicinal Plants, which has just been accepted by the Department of Science and Technology.
The Hanoi Center for Research on Cultivation and Processing of Medicinal Plants assessed that the honeysuckle plant has the potential to develop and bring high income to the people. It is proposed that the People's Committee of Hai Duong province support and encourage its development. Plan concentrated production areas, replicate the honeysuckle plant model in localities with similar climate and soil conditions to Chi Linh City, build a brand and promote trade for honeysuckle medicinal herbs.
