The mid-cycle upgrade of Carnival is being accepted by dealers, expected to launch around September or October.

After 3 years on the market, Kia Carnival is about to be refreshed with a light mid-life upgrade. Kia dealers in Vietnam are currently accepting deposits from customers to prioritize early deliveries in September and October. The car is still assembled at Truong Hai (Thaco) factory in Quang Nam.

The biggest design change on the 2024 Carnival is on the exterior. The headlights have a new, vertical shape instead of the flat, horizontal style of the old version. The grille is wider and more square. The taillight design is similar to the LED daytime running lights at the front.

The 2024 Kia Carnival has a new wheel design with spokes that are horizontal and vertical lines. Overall, the overall design of the new Carnival is more square and masculine than its predecessor.

In the interior, the changes are harder to notice because the arrangement of details remains the same. In Korea, the car is equipped with a large curved screen, combining a 12.3-inch digital clock and an infotainment system of the same size.

The large MPV has more options for interior lighting, a UV-C disinfection box located in the center console. Additional equipment is an 11-inch head-up display (HUD).

Kia Vietnam dealers said that the earliest version to be delivered to customers is the one with a 2.2 diesel engine, 199 horsepower, and an 8-speed automatic transmission. The 3.5 V6 gasoline engine version is likely no longer being distributed.

The 2024 Kia Carnival may replace the pure gasoline engine version with a hybrid version. This version combines a 1.6 turbocharged gasoline engine and an electric motor, along with a 1.49 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, producing 242 horsepower and 367 Nm of maximum torque. 6-speed automatic transmission. The combined fuel consumption of the Kia Carnival hybrid is 7.14 liters / 100 km.

Carnival is currently sold in 7 versions in Vietnam with 7 or 8 seat options, priced at 1.189-1.759 billion VND. Kia's model has been "alone" in the large MPV segment for many years until the end of 2023 when Volkswagen brought in the Viloran imported from China. However, the Viloran is priced at 1.989-2.188 billion VND, much higher than the Carnival.
