Mr. Tro A Sinh, Vice Chairman of Xa Ho Commune, Tram Tau, said on September 25 that the locality has had heavy rains in recent days, with a lot of water flowing in from upstream. Tourists should not trek Ta Chi Nhu because the road up the mountain does not have a bridge over the stream and the area is at risk of flash floods.

Ta Chi Nhu peak is 2,979 m above sea level, known as the roof of Yen Bai province, ranked 7th in the 10 highest mountains in Vietnam. Trekking Ta Chi Nhu is one of the tours favored by adventurous mountaineers.

A tour guide specializing in Northwest tours said that he encountered heavy rain on September 22 while leading a group of tourists trekking to Ta Chi Nhu. The previous day's roads across the stream were normal, but after just one night of rain, they were eroded, the water was muddy, flowing rapidly, and about 3-4 meters deep.

He and his group struggled in the rain, hungry because they had run out of food, had to abandon their motorbikes to find a way down the mountain. Later, he found a path for the locals to go to the fields, and helped bring the guests back safely.

From Mu Cang Chai to Ta Chi Nhu trekking according to the previous schedule, Bich Ngoc had to soak in the rain for many hours because the stream water was so strong that she could not go down the mountain. "If you are unlucky enough to encounter a rainy day, it is best to postpone the climb because the road up the mountain is steep and very dangerous," Bich Ngoc said.

According to the representative of Xa Ho commune, the impact of the Yagi storm circulation caused prolonged rain, the mountains were soaked with water, the road from Tram Tau to Xa Ho has steep terrain and is prone to landslides. Tourists who want to trek Ta Chi Nhu should wait until October or when the weather is favorable.

Hai Duong, a porter specializing in Ta Chi Nhu, said he has canceled all tours scheduled for September and will reschedule for October when the weather is stable.

Located in the Pu Luong mountain range of Hoang Lien Son range, the road to conquer Ta Chi Nhu is considered very difficult due to the harsh climate, requiring endurance and flexibility.
