Controlling a man threatening people with a knife, 3 Hai Phong police officers injured

On the morning of November 27, Hai Phong City Police said that while restraining a man who used a knife to injure another person, 3 police officers in Hong Thai commune (An Duong district, Hai Phong) were injured.

Specifically, at 6:30 a.m. on November 21, Hong Thai Commune Police received information that in Hamlet 4, Dao Yeu Village, Hong Thai Commune, Nguyen Van Manh (born in 1969, residing in Hong Thai Commune) used a knife to injure another person.

Upon receiving the information, the leaders of An Duong District Police directed the commune police force to go to the scene of the incident, and together with the family persuaded Nguyen Van Manh to put down the weapon. However, this man did not comply, even resisted and threatened the Hong Thai Commune Police force and passersby.

Realizing that they could not move Nguyen Van Manh, the Hong Thai Commune Police used pepper spray to suppress and control the subject. During the process of controlling him, Manh brandished a knife in his hand and threw the knife at the commune police, injuring 3 part-time commune police officers. Among them, Nguyen Ba Dung - a police officer, had his finger stitched.

After controlling Nguyen Van Manh, his family took him to Hai Phong Mental Hospital for treatment. It is known that Nguyen Van Manh is taking psychiatric medication according to the prescribed regimen at Hong Thai Commune Health Station.

Currently, Mr. Nguyen Ba Dung has had his finger stitched back together, Mr. Vu Van Mien - a police officer has had his wound stitched and is continuing treatment, Tran Van Long - a police officer has soft tissue injuries and has had his wound stitched at the Hong Thai Commune Health Station, and is receiving health care at home.
