Prosecution of drug users, insulting Hai Phong traffic police

Hai Phong City Police today (October 11) announced that Hong Bang District Police have just initiated a criminal case against Nguyen Hoang Nam (born in 1985, residing at 2/21, Nguyen Huu Tue Street, Gia Vien Ward, Ngo Quyen District, Hai Phong City) for resisting a person on official duty.

Previously, at 2:40 p.m. on September 26, the Traffic Police - Order Team of Hong Bang District Police, while on patrol duty, inspected and handled violations on Minh Khai Street, discovered car with license plate number 15A - 692.19 driven by Mr. Vu Van Manh (born in 1989, in An Dong Commune, An Duong District) carrying Nguyen Hoang Nam entering a prohibited road.

When the car arrived in front of house number 28, Minh Khai street, the task force stopped Manh's car for inspection. Nguyen Hoang Nam (the person sitting next to the driver) resisted, attacked, insulted and obstructed the task force from performing their duties.

The subject was subdued and taken to Hoang Van Thu Ward Police Station for processing. Both Nam and Manh tested positive for drugs. During a search of the vehicle, the police also seized a package of crystal meth.

Hong Bang District Police have completed the case file and issued a decision to prosecute Nguyen Hoang Nam for the crime of "Resisting a person on official duty" and administratively sanction Vu Van Manh for the crime of "Entering a prohibited road and driving on the road while having drugs in the body".
