This is a development in the process of the Ministry of Public Security's Security Investigation Agency handling and investigating the case of "violating regulations on management and use of State assets causing loss and waste; lack of responsibility causing serious consequences; giving bribes; receiving bribes; taking advantage of positions and powers to influence others for personal gain" occurring at Xuyen Viet Oil Trading, Transport and Tourism Limited Liability Company and a number of related agencies and organizations.
On December 14, the Ministry of Public Security's Security Investigation Agency issued a decision to prosecute, an arrest warrant, and a search warrant for the residence of Mr. Le Duc Tho (born July 25, 1970 in Phu Tho; former Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee) to investigate the crime of "taking advantage of position and power to influence others for personal gain" as prescribed in Article 358 of the Penal Code.
After the Supreme People's Procuracy approved, the Ministry of Public Security's Security Investigation Agency served the decision to prosecute the accused, executed the arrest warrant for temporary detention, and searched the residence and workplace of the accused Le Duc Tho.
The case is being further investigated by the Ministry of Public Security's Security Investigation Agency for handling in accordance with the law.
