On June 24, Gia Loc District Police, the District Military Command coordinated with Dong Quang Commune authorities to detonate a 105mm artillery shell in the An Thu village field of this commune.
Previously, on June 20, Dong Quang Commune Police received information from Ms. Mai Thi Phuong (born in 1991, in Don Thu village, Dong Quang commune), Director of Construction Consulting and Trading Company 88, about Mr. Nguyen Van Dep (born in 1991, in the same commune) selling to the company a metal object suspected to be an artillery shell.

Dong Quang Commune Police went to the company to propagate and persuade Mr. Dep to voluntarily hand over the metal object suspected to be a shell. Afterwards, the Commune Police reported to the local authorities and relevant functional units for handling according to regulations.
Officers and soldiers of Gia Loc District Military Command conduct detonation of artillery shells.
Through inspection and verification, the Gia Loc District Military Command determined that the metal object was a 105mm artillery shell belonging to the list of level 5 ammunition left over from the war.
By the morning of June 24, at the An Thu village field, the authorities had detonated the above-mentioned artillery shell, ensuring the safety of people and vehicles.
