The first generation Honda Future, manufactured in 2001 with a 4-digit Hanoi license plate, has only traveled 3,300km. Every detail is original, so this car is being sold for more than 100 million.
The Honda Future line was born in late 1999, assembled domestically by Honda Vietnam with a 110cc engine imported from Thailand like the Wave 110.
At the time of its appearance, although it had the same size as its brother Honda Wave 110, Future had a design with many strong, high lines, even somewhat unconventional, making this vehicle look more majestic and "cool".
The highlight of the Future's appearance is the plump mask, the air vents are arranged on both sides, along with the rounded fairing of the same color. Another characteristic of the Future is the rear of the vehicle with large taillights and a "duck tail" shape, adding to the strong look of this model.
After the first generation Future (Future I), at the end of 2004, the Japanese motorcycle joint venture continued to launch Future II with a new 125cc engine but was not very successful. At the end of 2005, the next generation Future Neo was launched, followed by the current Future Neo Fi, Future X, Future 125 and Future 125 Fi models.
However, for nostalgic people, the first generation Honda Future I is still a 'legendary' motorbike, highly appreciated for its durability, low breakdown rate, and fuel economy. Currently, this model, called "Fat Fu", is still sought after by collectors, especially those that are still "original", rarely used, and have a beautiful appearance.
Recently, a blue Honda Future I manufactured in 2001 was sold by Mr. Do Quang Tu (on Phung Hung Street, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) for more than 100 million VND, 10-20 times higher than old cars of the same year, which are currently priced at only 5-10 million VND.
The above price is also more than 3 times higher than a Honda Future Fi 125 2024 (listed price 30.5-32.2 million VND), even equal to a new SH 160i 2024 (listed price 101.5-110.5 million VND).
According to Mr. Tu, the reason this Future has such a high price is because the vehicle is 100% "original" with all the details being original as when it was first purchased, from the engine, gearbox, two tires to the plastic and leather parts. Even each screw is still "shiny" and shows no signs of being unscrewed.
The car’s odometer shows 3,308km, indicating that it has been kept indoors and used very little. The car still has its original papers and 4-digit Hanoi license plate registered in 2001.
Sharing more about this special Future, Mr. Do Quang Tu said that although it was rarely used, the previous owner started the engine and took care of and cleaned it regularly. Therefore, the car only needs to be started lightly to start. When on the road, the 23-year-old car operates well with smooth throttle, brakes, gears, and shock absorbers, like "gliding in the wind".
