Scientific seminar on Vice President Nguyen Luong Bang

The workshop was chaired by comrades: Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Tran Duc Thang, Party Central Committee member, Secretary of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee; To Thi Bich Chau, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Phan Xuan Thuy, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Le Van Loi, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Hong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam and comrades: Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Trieu The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee attended the workshop.

Attending the workshop were comrades representing leaders of central departments, ministries, branches and Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, Hai Phong City Party Committee, Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee; representatives of relatives and family of comrade Nguyen Luong Bang and many delegates and scientists at the central and local levels.

In his opening speech and introductory report, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, emphasized that the workshop is a practical activity to contribute to paying tribute to the noble revolutionary life and the great activities and contributions of Comrade Nguyen Luong Bang to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, contributing to fostering and educating the spirit of patriotism and revolutionary ideals for cadres, party members and people of all walks of life, especially the young generation.

To commemorate and pay tribute to the revolutionary life and great activities and contributions of comrade Nguyen Luong Bang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang suggested that delegates and scientists focus on discussing and deepening some main contents to clarify the life, revolutionary career and great contributions of comrade Nguyen Luong Bang. That is: Comrade Nguyen Luong Bang was a pioneer communist soldier during the Party building period, loyal to the Party and revolutionary ideals all his life; a talented leader of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution; a model of pure and exemplary revolutionary morality, an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh.

The report affirmed that in the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, comrade Nguyen Luong Bang, with his bravery and strong belief in the Party's and the revolution's ideal goals, overcame all difficulties and hardships, crossed the fragile boundary between life and death, excellently completed all assigned tasks, and contributed to the victory of the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

As one of the pioneers in the Party's founding period, comrade Nguyen Luong Bang was always a pioneer in organizing the implementation of new revolutionary tasks, excellently completing all assigned responsibilities... When he became Vice President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1969 and Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 1976, comrade Nguyen Luong Bang made important contributions in many aspects, focusing on the highest goal of building a socialist North, liberating the South and unifying the country; building and perfecting the State apparatus; taking care of Party building work; foreign affairs work; building and developing the armed forces; developing the socio-economy, improving the material and spiritual life of the people...

Comrade Nguyen Luong Bang devoted his entire life to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. “His example is a spiritual value that will forever shine for many generations of communists, our youth, and our people. His revolutionary spirit and communist morality are immortal.” He deserves to be one of President Ho Chi Minh’s outstanding students.

Through the process of continuous learning, training, and growing up in practice, becoming a senior leader of the Party and the State, comrade Nguyen Luong Bang has contributed to making the glorious cultural and revolutionary tradition of his homeland Hai Duong more famous and more beautiful. On his way of working, wherever he is, whatever he does, he always has warm and loyal feelings for his homeland. During his visits and work with the Party Committee and people of Hai Duong, he always reminded the Hai Duong Party Committee to focus on Party building, comprehensive socio-economic development, step by step improving the people's lives, and striving to make Hai Duong a prosperous and developed province. He is the pride of the Party Committee and people of Hai Duong, making the glorious revolutionary tradition of his homeland more beautiful and more beautiful.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, emphasized that promoting the fine traditions of the Eastern culture, while studying and following the example of comrade Nguyen Luong Bang, the Party Committee and people of Hai Duong are striving to successfully implement the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term. Speaking at the workshop, Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang said that this is a key activity, of great significance, celebrating the 120th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Nguyen Luong Bang held in Hai Duong; he sincerely thanked the leaders, delegates, scientists, and representatives of Comrade Nguyen Luong Bang's family for attending the workshop.

The Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee emphasized that in the history of the formation and development of the nation, Hai Duong is known as one of the cradles of Vietnamese culture, a land of talented people with a long tradition of culture and a history of patriotism against foreign invaders; proud to be the land associated with the names of many talented people and famous generals of the country such as: Military Governor Khuc Thua Du, Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, Two-country champion Mac Dinh Chi, Ten Thousand-world teacher Chu Van An, Great physician Zen master Tue Tinh, world cultural celebrity Nguyen Trai, the first mathematician Vu Huu, the first female doctor of Confucianism Nguyen Thi Due...

During the era of national liberation and unification, Hai Duong was also famous for the names of many great revolutionaries, including Vice President Nguyen Luong Bang - a typical senior leader of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution, an excellent student, and a close and intimate associate of President Ho Chi Minh.

Affirming the great contributions of comrade Nguyen Luong Bang, the Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee emphasized that at the age of 75, with more than half a century of fighting for independence, freedom and socialism under the flag of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, comrade Nguyen Luong Bang is a shining example of a communist leader who devoted his whole life to national independence, for the freedom and happiness of the people...

Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang said that this workshop will continue to affirm and clarify the great contributions and dedication of Comrade Nguyen Luong Bang to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party, the nation and Hai Duong homeland. These will be extremely valuable historical data of the Party and important documents for Hai Duong and the provinces where Comrade Nguyen Luong Bang worked to use as documents to serve the work of propaganda and education of revolutionary traditions for generations, especially the young generation today and tomorrow. From there, it will arouse and enhance national pride, promote historical and cultural traditions, patriotism in building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the period of integration and development.

Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang respectfully thanked the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Central Propaganda Department for coordinating with Hai Duong province to organize the workshop; and respectfully thanked the scientists and distinguished guests who came to the workshop with their research works and presentations that were extremely meaningful in theory, history and practice.

The Organizing Committee of the Conference received nearly 50 presentations from Party and State leaders, representatives of central agencies, ministries, branches, organizations, localities, Hai Duong province - the hometown of Comrade Nguyen Luong Bang and many scientists. Of these, 8 presentations were presented directly at the conference.

At the workshop, Comrade Nguyen Thi Hong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, spoke about the contributions to the banking industry of Comrade Nguyen Luong Bang - the first General Director of the State Bank of Vietnam. The speech clarified and affirmed that under the leadership of Comrade Nguyen Luong Bang, the banking industry has rapidly matured and undertaken the tasks assigned by the Party and the State; built a team of both "red" and "professional" cadres, laying the foundation for the development of the banking industry in the following stages. All cadres and employees of the banking industry through the periods remember and continue to strive, turning the concerns and plans of Comrade into reality on the path of building an increasingly developed banking industry, contributing to the cause of building a rich and strong Vietnam, firmly stepping into the process of international integration.

Comrade To Thi Bich Chau, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, discussed the activities and contributions of Comrade Nguyen Luong Bang to the Viet Minh Front. The Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front affirmed that Comrade Nguyen Luong Bang was a veteran revolutionary with many great contributions to the cause of national liberation and national construction. Through the stages of participating in the revolution, participating in the Leadership Board of the Viet Minh General Department and various working positions, he devoted much attention and dedication to the formation, development and growth of the Viet Minh Front (now the Vietnam Fatherland Front). The values ​​that he left behind have been and are being inherited, promoted and elevated by generations of cadres working for the Front and people nationwide along with the development of the nation.

Under the authorization of Mr. Pham Thanh Ha, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Mr. Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, gave a speech on the activities and contributions of Mr. Nguyen Luong Bang in his capacity as Vice President. In his capacity as Vice President, Mr. Nguyen Luong Bang worked tirelessly for the cause of building socialism and fighting for national reunification. With his steadfastness, intelligence and enthusiasm, Mr. Nguyen Luong Bang made many contributions and contributions to the Vietnamese revolution. Notably, he actively worked with the Party and State leaders to focus on leading the implementation of the highest goal of building socialism in the North, liberating the South and unifying the country. He paid attention to production, stabilizing life, promoting the people's right to mastery; made many contributions in the field of foreign affairs; actively built a strong Party in terms of ideology, politics and organization. He was also an example of a cadre who did not seek fame and fortune and of a simple lifestyle.

Comrade Nguyen Quang Phuc, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, discussed the role of comrade Nguyen Luong Bang in the establishment of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee in 1940. The discussion affirmed that the establishment of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee was the result of the dedication, sacrifice and contribution of many generations of Party members and outstanding people in the province. In particular, the contributions of comrade Nguyen Luong Bang were enormous as he was the first person to spread Marxism-Leninism in Hai Duong province and actively propagated, mobilized and educated the revolutionary spirit for the people during the period when the Vietnamese revolution in general and the Hai Duong provincial revolution in particular were brutally suppressed to maintain a noble revolutionary spirit, waiting for a favorable opportunity to stand up and fight. With many great and important contributions, comrade Nguyen Luong Bang was the one who laid the foundation for the establishment of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee in 1940.
