On September 28, French news agency AFP confirmed that it had been attacked by a cyber attack.
AFP said in a statement that after discovering the attack on September 27, AFP technical teams were working to resolve the incident with the support of the French National Agency for Information Systems Security (ANSSI). While the incident is being analyzed and resolved, the agency affirmed that AFP newsrooms and all its services continue to report news worldwide.
The motive and party behind the cyber attack are currently unknown.
