The Director of the Hai Duong Department of Transport has just decided to temporarily suspend the operations for 3 months (from September 26 to December 25, 2024) of 2 motor vehicle inspection centers in Hai Duong city and Kim Thanh district.
The two suspended centers include Motor Vehicle Inspection Center 34-05D in Lien Hong Commune (Hai Duong City) and Motor Vehicle Inspection Center 34-04D in Kim Xuyen Commune (Kim Thanh).
The two centers must stop all motor vehicle inspection activities during the suspension period.
The reason the above centers were suspended was because each unit had 2 inspectors whose inspector certificates were revoked by the Vietnam Register.
Previously, on September 26, 2023, the People's Court of Hai Duong province held a first-instance trial of 6 defendants for the crime of accepting bribes at the Motor Vehicle Inspection Center 34-05D and the Motor Vehicle Inspection Center 34-04D..Four deputy directors who were also inspectors at these two centers colluded with several businesses to receive bribes of more than VND200 million to instruct vehicle owners to renovate road motor vehicles at outside construction sites.
In addition to the prison sentence, the inspectors also had their certificates revoked. Thus, according to regulations, the center will have to temporarily suspend its operations.
