According to the plan, in the 2023-2024 winter-spring crop, Hai Duong plans to plant 63,600 hectares, a decrease of 862 hectares compared to last year's winter-spring crop. Of which, 53,600 hectares will be for rice and 10,000 hectares for vegetables. Tu Ky is the locality with the largest winter-spring crop area in the province.

According to forecasts, the winter-spring crop of 2023-2024 will have higher temperatures than average, and water resources on rivers will decrease, causing difficulties for production. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development recommends minimizing the planting of early spring tea and maximizing the planting of late spring tea. Early spring tea accounts for less than 6.5% of the area, sowing seedlings from December 16-20, 2023, and transplanting from January 1-10, 2024. Late spring tea accounts for over 93.5% of the area, using short-term, high-yield, pest-resistant rice varieties and not sowing late spring tea seedlings over winter before January 31, 2024.

For spring vegetables, the main crop is vegetables with an area of ​​about 7,000 hectares, corn about 1,000 hectares and other crops 1,200 hectares. Farmers are encouraged to actively introduce new varieties, new intensive farming techniques into production, spread out planting, expand the area of ​​greenhouses, net houses...

In the 2022-2023 winter-spring crop, the whole province will plant 64,462 hectares, including 54,294 hectares of rice; 10,167 hectares of vegetables.

After 4 years of implementation, Hai Duong has supported more than 9.1 billion VND to buy trays, substrates, and support renting premises for participating establishments; organized 356 training courses for 17,781 people; supported 355 demonstration models of machine planting with an area of ​​1,332.5 hectares...

The area of ​​rice planted by machine has increased from 3,570 hectares, accounting for 3.11% (in 2019) to 13,954 hectares, accounting for 12.87% (in 2023).

However, due to the lack of determination of local authorities in implementing the project, the model could not be implemented.
