The tray rice transplanting machine model in Hai Duong helps increase economic efficiency and reduce production costs compared to mass planting.
This is the result evaluated by Hai Duong Agricultural Extension Center after 3 years of implementing the Project "Building a service organization model for applying seedling trays and transplanters in rice production in Hai Duong".
Specifically, the tray-seeding machine model helps increase labor productivity by more than 16 times; reduces 30% of seeds and 1 spray of pesticides; rice productivity is 2.46 - 6.91% higher than mass production, helping to increase economic efficiency by 41.9 - 66.6% compared to rice production outside the model.
In 3 years, the project has carried out rice planting by machine for about 385 hectares. From the State's support fund, the service teams have invested additional funds to produce 176,250 trays of seedlings for planting on 705 hectares. Seedlings are sown by machine, saving time and labor, with uniform density, strong plants, firm branches, and free of pests and diseases. Although the density of machine planting is lower than traditional planting, machine-planted rice plants are strong and have strong tillering ability.
