Cage fish output in Nam Sach increased by nearly 15%

Nam Sach's cage fish output in the first quarter of 2025 will reach about 5,785 tons, an increase of 14.6% over the same period in 2024.

Nam Sach district currently has 3,473 fish cages on the river, concentrated in the communes of Nam Tan, Hiep Cat, Quoc Tuan, Thai Tan, Nam Hung, An Binh, An Son, Minh Tan and Cong Hoa.

In the first quarter of 2025, the harvested fish output will reach about 5,785 tons, reaching 35.1% of the plan (an increase of 14.6% over the same period in 2024).

From the beginning of the year, the district has directed communes to implement production plans for households with fish cages on the river, and organized conferences to transfer techniques on high-yield aquaculture.

As the locality with the highest number of fish cages on the river in the province, last March, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Sach district directed to strengthen the management of fish cage farming on the river and control the discharge of waste into the Thai Binh and Kinh Thay river systems.

The People's Committees of communes and towns actively propagate, mobilize and request households raising fish in cages on rivers to thin out the density of cages and reduce the density of farming according to the instructions of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hai Duong province.
