Localities in Hai Duong have proactively planned to vaccinate livestock against disease, so the vaccination progress is fast.
According to the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, localities in Hai Duong have completed vaccination against autumn-season diseases for livestock, half a month ahead of schedule. The vaccination has created mass immunity, protecting livestock from common diseases.
Localities have administered 125,900 doses of classical swine fever vaccine, 93,500 doses of erysipelas vaccine, 68,000 doses of blue ear and foot-and-mouth disease vaccine for pigs; and 7,750 doses of anthrax vaccine for cattle. In addition, localities continue to register for additional vaccination for newly imported livestock to ensure community immunity.
Vaccination of livestock is done quickly because localities proactively develop vaccination plans; at the same time, vaccines are distributed and vaccination techniques are provided to each household.
Localities are simultaneously deploying bird flu vaccination for small-scale livestock farms. The vaccination period is expected to last until October 30.
