Hai Duong has a health insurance coverage rate of 92.6% of the population.

The conference was connected online from the Central point to 700 points across the country with nearly 10,000 delegates attending.

Leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Provincial Social Insurance, members of the Steering Committee for implementing social insurance and health insurance policies of the province attended at the Hai Duong bridge point.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Vu Thanh Mai, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, highly appreciated the efforts of the entire social insurance sector, which promptly advised and coordinated to effectively implement Directive No. 38-CT/TW.

The Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department requested that Party committees, authorities, departments, branches and organizations step up propaganda work so that people, businesses and households are deeply aware of the role and importance of health insurance policies, thereby forming a sense of voluntary participation in health insurance. At the same time, strengthen the leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities, close coordination between departments, branches and organizations in implementing health insurance. Continue to include indicators for developing health insurance participants in resolutions, socio-economic development plans and annual tasks; link the implementation of health insurance indicators with programs for building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, and sustainable poverty reduction...

The social insurance sector needs to continue to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of health insurance; strengthen inspection and examination of the implementation of regulations and policies on health insurance; promptly detect and strictly handle violations; raise awareness, responsibility for service, service quality, ensure the rights of health insurance participants, and meet the increasing demand for medical examination and treatment of the people.

After 15 years of implementing Directive No. 38-CT/TW, health insurance coverage has increased rapidly and developed sustainably. By 2023, there were 93.6 million people participating in health insurance, 2.3 times higher than in 2008 (when Directive No. 38 was not yet available), with health insurance coverage reaching 93.35% of the population.

Every year, there are over 150 million people using health insurance for medical examination and treatment, and the health insurance fund pays over 100,000 billion VND.

In Hai Duong, the provincial Social Insurance closely coordinates with the Department of Health and medical facilities to ensure the rights of health insurance cardholders when seeking medical examination and treatment and to manage and use the health insurance fund safely and effectively. By 2023, the province will have nearly 1.8 million people participating in health insurance, with a coverage rate of 92.6% of the population.

In the coming time, the entire social insurance sector will continue to closely follow the tasks and solutions stated in Directive No. 38-CT/TW of the Secretariat to effectively implement policies and laws on health insurance; focus resources to strive to have over 95% of the population participating in health insurance by 2025, moving towards universal health insurance.
