Hezbollah forces in Lebanon announced on October 12 that they had launched multiple rockets at an Israeli military base in the coastal city of Haifa.
Hezbollah's statement said its fighters had attacked a base south of Haifa, with several missiles targeting an Israeli arms factory.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Hezbollah fired some 230 artillery shells into Israel on October 11. The IDF also reported carrying out more than 110 airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, hitting infrastructure above and below ground. The IDF also said ground forces in southern Lebanon engaged and killed several Hezbollah members with the support of the air force.
Earlier, the Lebanese Ministry of Health said 22 people were killed and 117 injured in an Israeli airstrike on an area with many apartment buildings and small shops in the center of the capital Beirut on the evening of October 10.
Hezbollah is preparing for a prolonged war of attrition in southern Lebanon, with the formation of a new military command after a series of top leaders of the movement were killed in Israeli airstrikes, multiple sources said.
