Meeting of the Youth Union and youth movement in the Red River Delta cluster in Hai Duong

Attending the conference were comrades: Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Student Association; Nguyen Duc Tuan, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, leaders of a number of professional departments of the Central Youth Union, representatives of a number of provincial departments and branches, and leaders of 8 provincial and municipal Youth Unions in the Red River Delta cluster.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Duc Tuan highly appreciated the great contributions of the Youth Union, its staff and a large number of youth union members in revolutionary movements, contributing to the cause of national construction and defense.

He hoped that through the conference, the provinces and cities of the Red River Delta will have practical and effective activities and cooperation programs to contribute to the implementation of the Politburo's major policies.

He believes that with the spirit of initiative and creativity, the youth of Hai Duong province in particular and the youth of the Red River Delta in general will continue to make great and effective contributions to the construction and development of the region and each locality.

In 2023, the youth of the Red River Delta cluster closely followed the theme of "Year of digital transformation of Union activities", with innovations, creativity and transformation in the work of the Union, Association, Team, and youth movement.

The whole cluster has nearly 500 typical, advanced youth models, good people, good deeds, hundreds of collectives with thousands of models, works, and creative works "following Uncle Ho's words" have been commended and replicated; 2,316 youth works such as community digital transformation models, library clusters... have been implemented and inaugurated; 547 new activity points and playgrounds for children in communes, wards, and towns have been built; 92 km of rural roads have been lit up; more than 1.8 million new trees have been planted, contributing to the construction of rural and urban environmental landscapes; more than 1,083 billion VND has been provided with loans for young people to do business; 604,810 young people have received career counseling, 170,281 young people have been introduced to jobs; over 400 red addresses have been digitized in promoting historical and cultural relics in localities.

At the conference, the Youth Unions of the provinces exchanged, learned from each other, shared good experiences, creative and effective ways of doing things in their activities. At the same time, they found out difficulties and obstacles in practical activities to make recommendations to the Central Youth Union, the Party Committee and the provincial government for consideration and adjustment to contribute to further improving the quality of the Youth Union's work and the youth movement in the coming time.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union Nguyen Minh Triet acknowledged the achievements in the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement, and the spirit of solidarity and initiative of the provincial and municipal Youth Unions in the Red River Delta cluster.

He requested that the provinces and cities in the cluster continue to actively implement the action program to implement the Resolution of the 12th National Youth Union Congress, especially the 3 breakthrough tasks that have been identified. Develop plans, establish targets and tasks, closely following the working theme for 2024; pay more attention to Party development work for youth union members, especially students, in terms of both quantity and quality. Handle the needs and aspirations of youth union members after organizing dialogues with leaders of People's Committees and leaders at all levels...

On this occasion, the Central Youth Union presented 2,000 maps of Vietnam to the Youth Unions of the provinces and cities in the Red River Delta in response to the campaign "Proud of a strip of land and rivers". The provincial and city Youth Unions in the cluster also presented a gymnasium worth 100 million VND to Hai Duong University of Medical Technology.
