On the afternoon of July 16, nearly 2,000 candidates took the 15th exam to select excellent students of specialized high schools in the coastal and Northern Delta regions in 2024 in Hai Duong city.

Candidates from 41 specialized high schools in the coastal and Northern Delta regions, who are 10th and 11th graders in the 2023-2024 school year, will take the exam. There are 12 subjects, including: math, physics, chemistry, biology, literature, history, geography, information technology, English, Russian, French, and Chinese. More than 800 administrators and teachers from these schools participate in organizing the exam, managing students, and grading exams.
Hai Duong has 66 candidates taking the exam in 11 subjects, including: math, physics, chemistry, biology, literature, history, geography, information technology, English, Russian, and French.
On the afternoon of July 16, candidates took the exam at 4 testing locations: Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Du High School, Hong Quang High School, and Hai Duong Province Continuing Education Center - Foreign Languages, Information Technology (all in Hai Duong City). On July 17, the exam was graded and awards were given at Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted.
The exam is organized annually by the Association of High Schools for the Gifted in the coastal and Northern Delta regions. In 2024, Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted was chosen as the host. This is the third year the school has hosted this exam.
The exam is an opportunity to discover good students, excellent students in subjects so that specialized high schools can plan to select and train them to participate in national, regional and international competitions for excellent students. At the same time, it is an opportunity for the management staff and teachers of specialized high schools to exchange and share experiences, improve their professional qualifications in training specialized subjects and excellent students.
At this exam in 2023 held in Thai Nguyen, Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted had 63/66 contestants winning prizes with 7 gold medals, 24 silver medals, 26 bronze medals and 6 consolation prizes.
